Kayla & Gene | Outer Banks Wedding

Kayla and Gene are such a sweet couple! I still can't get over how beautiful this wedding was! Even though the rain was coming down all morning, it cleared up just in time for their "I do's!"

Between their family and friends (HUGE kudos to this rockin' guy named Kevin Beasley who is a wedding extraordinare!) this wedding was so hands on and so many awesome people helped create the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. I have NEVER seen Pirate's Cove look that amazing! From gorgeous florals, candles galore and a vintage lanterns, I was in awe of every little detail! Don't even get me started on the kids table! It was the coolest spot for all of the special little guests to enjoy and eat their meal, parent free!

I feel like I wouldn't do this wedding blog justice if I didn't tell you about all of the "real" things that I was able to witness and photograph. I was so incredibly blessed by this wedding and by hearing the beautiful love story of Kayla and Gene, as told by their family and friends. Tears and laughs were served up along side of a delicious dinner complete with Aunt Deb's rolls! (Swooning over that detail over here!)

The ladies of Southern Weddings magazine are always writing about the meaning of a wedding and the true heart of your wedding day. I just kept thinking during Kayla and Gene's ceremony that their relationship, the heart of the day, and their love story was so present in not only their ceremony but in their reception. It was filled with the things that they love the most, family and Jesus! It was truly PERFECT! With their wedding being just one day before Easter, the beautiful message of a new promise was so relevant. I say this all the time but, I truly have the greatest job in the world. I am fortunate enough to witness freshly made promises and pray and toast right alongside the family and friends of a new couple. Best Job Ever!

Kayla had all of her best girlfriends, sisters and her sweet Momma there to help her get ready for the big day!
