Outer Banks Hospital Gala | Outer Banks Event

I am so honored to have been the photographer for this event for the past two years. The Outer Banks Hospital is so much more than just a hospital here on the Outer Banks. With the addition of the Outer Banks Hospital Health Coach, a mobile coach that provides free and reduced cost health screenings, the hospital here is giving back every single day! The hospital gala is such a beautiful event put on each year to raise money for the health coach to be able to continue providing these amazing free services!

This year the gala theme was a Brazilian Carnival! It was an absolutely beautifully planned event and Bells & Whistles knocked the flowers OUT OF THE PARK! Captain George's Seafood was such a great venue for this event and Blue Steel Lighting really transformed the venue from fine dining to a luxury event! Great lighting can transform any space! It's so amazing! Not to mention, I was able to sneak a piece of the delicious cake that was donated by Great Cakes. Marsha, the owner of Great Cakes is such a sweet lady. She is also a Reverend and she was married Jason and I! So really... there was absolutely no way I was leaving the building without a piece of cake! Kristin Dare, the aerialist was amazing! I have butterflies in my stomach just watching her talent! She was the perfect addition to the gala this year!

Between custom cocktails, fabulous service, yummy food and an event planning team from the hospital that is simply out of this World, this event is a huge success each year. This year they raised over $100,000! How amazing is that?

My favorite part of this event was seeing what a great time everyone had. The dance floor was packed all night long thanks to the FABULOUS band! Rare Mixx came from Virginia Beach and they were so incredible. I found myself trying to come up with an event that I could have and hire them! Any ideas for me? :) Truly, they were so incredibly talented and SO incredibly kind. Their love for what they do was so present in the performance that they gave!

The Outer Banks Hospital feels like a home away from home this week! One week I was shooting the hospital gala and the next week, I was spending hours in the ER with my sweet Joey after he took a big fall at school recess and broke his arm. It was his first broken bone and he was a total champ and never complained a bit. Luckiest mama ever, right here!

Here's to spending more time shooting hospital events and less time in the ER with my little guy! :)
